Whether it's a headshot or a full-length portrait, photographers need time to get to know their subjects and help them feel relaxed.
Take a look at this interesting graphic that shows the choices that each person made from their headshot portrait session.
Each subject received an average of 20-25 previews to look at from one of my recent headshot sessions.
No one chose their first image. In fact, only one person chose no. 2 and the next closest number is no. 8.
The average among all the subjects is 14.
Why?
Because most people become more relaxed as the session progresses.
It's important to have enough time to get to know your subject and help them become relaxed in front of the camera.
